Is Social Media Good or Bad?

Is social media helping or destroying your life? Is it safe? Can it really increase productivity or is it simply a place to waste a large amount of time? If you are like most people, you might already have used at least one social media platform, but you may still have some questions about social networking.

A social network service is a website or service where people talk to, or network with other people. Social Network Service can connect people with same interests.

There are at least 3 or more advantages that social media bring; first is “Worldwide Connectivity”, which makes you connect and interact with people all around the globe. Second is “Commonality of Interest”, which makes you find people who have similar interests with you and you are able to interrelate with. Third is “Real-Time Information Sharing”, which lets people exchange information in real-time via a chat.

There are also at least 3 or more disadvantages that social media brings; first is “Cyber bullying”, the use of social networks may expose individuals to other forms of harassment or inappropriate contact. Second is “Time Waster”, more and more people are getting addicted to social media leaving them to lose productivity. When using any social media platform, take responsibility for your worn safety. In evaluating if social media is good or bad, it’s best to stick on the side of caution and protect your privacy. Be careful with what you post and treat others as if you were in a face-to-face situation.
